Biography

Ahmed Hayman

Ahmed Hayman is an award winning photographer. He graduated in 2008 from Misr University for science & Technology, Mass Communication with specialization in broadcasting. He started his career as a photographer at Akhbar El Hawadeth Weekly. Currently he works at Al Masry Al Youm. He held various exhibitions among which are an exhibition about Gaza (2010) and an exhibition about people living on the street (2007) at Al Sawy Cultural Wheel.

Ahmed photographs were included in the exhibitions “Reporting a Revolution… Continued” (Copenhagen & Berlin, 2012), “Stories of Change’ (The Netherlands & Tunisia, 2014-2015) and “Young Men” (Copenhagen & Cairo, 2010-2011). His awards include First Prize, Photo Story, Egypt Press Photo Awards 2011, and Gold Domestic Picture Story, College Photographer of the year in 2011. Lately, Ahmed is more interested on portrait street photography as he believes that portraits can say a lot about the person in the photograph and it’s a big challenge to show what’s inside people through one photograph. Ahmed is the creator and photographer of “Egyptians” project on Facebook.
