Biography

Ali Shaath is the Co-founder of ADEF Arab Digital Expressions Foundation and Chief Executive Officer at REEM, Research and Electronic Manufacturing. He studied Communication Engineering at Cairo University and obtained a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from TUE Eindhoven Technical University in The Netherlands. Ali's love for arts and culture coupled with his technological background and experience in camps led to the creation of ADEF. ADEF serves as a hub for knowledge production and sharing and strives to develop and promote collaborative models of knowledge production and sharing, in a quest to contribute to an evolving Arab identity. The foundation's core belief is that through open culture, freedom of expression and right to knowledge thrive and become a force that drives us to explore and discover our endless potential.
