Wael Abdel Aal

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tele-Med International and one of Egypt's preeminent experts in the fields of pediatric cardiology, Dr. Abdel Aal currently serves as Vice President and medical director of the Aswan Heart Center "Magdi Yacoub Foundation". He was trained at Cairo University School of Medicine, and participated in international fellowships in the USA at Boston Children's Hospital "Harvard U.", The Cleveland Clinic, as well as Harefield Hospital in the United Kingdom. Dr. Abdel Aal is a member of several international societies and review boards, and has published numerous scholarly articles in the field of pediatric cardiology. He is a founding board member and former Vice President of the Pan-Arab Congenital Heart Disease Association (PACHDA); and a founding board member and former President of the Egyptian Society of Congenital Heart Disease. Dr. Abdel Aal is also involved with multiple charity programs that organize medical missions to provide quality healthcare to under-served children suffering from heart disease. This work exposed him to the deficiencies of healthcare provision in the remote and under-served communities .His work subsequently lead to his involvement in Telehealth and the creation of Tele-Med International - Egypt's pioneer telehealth service provider delivering accessible and affordable healthcare via telecommunications technology - with a vision that it will empower healthcare providers to bring quality healthcare to the under-served populations.
