Hani Mahfouz

Renowned Egyptian graphic designer Hani Mahfouz graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University in 1988, holding a BA in Interior Design. He is Founder & Managing Director of hmd(Hani Mahfouz Designs)-manufacturer of Egyptian designs notebooks Hani Mahfouz started working as a graphic designer from 1990 to establish his own graphic studio in Cairo under the name of [hmd] in 1997, with a main principle of making a new artistic/commercial direction, based on graphic design mainly, without denying the commercial identity of itself. Since 2002, Hani has been producing stationery and giveaways, which are receiving excellent response in terms of design and quality. Starting a new commercial line has rooted his graphic and industrial designs.

In his talk, Hani explains how human beings die two deaths; one physical and one when the last person on Earth pronounces their name. In his heartwarming and deeply inspirational talk, Hani advocates the importance of rejecting "The Second Death".
